The Clinical Supervisor serves as a vital leader within the Nursing Department, operating under the direction of the Nursing Department Director or Manager. This role is dedicated to ensuring the safety, quality, and operational excellence of clinical services for patients and their families. By blending sound human resource and budget principles with clinical expertise, the Clinical Supervisor guides the daily provision of nursing care while fostering a culture of professionalism and excellence.
In this position, you will act as a clinical resource and role model, supporting the interdisciplinary team in delivering comprehensive patient services. The role involves a dynamic mix of shift leadership, staff coaching, and direct patient care. You will be responsible for supervising nursing associates, managing patient assignments based on need and competency, and serving as the primary responder to unit emergent events, including Code Blue Alerts and Rapid Response Team activations.
Your day-to-day impact includes championing continuous improvement by identifying obstacles and securing resources for effective change. You will conduct patient experience rounds to ensure satisfaction and perform real-time service recovery, while also monitoring critical safety programs such as fall risk, skin integrity, and pain management. By facilitating multi-disciplinary rounds and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and New Mexico Nurse Practice Act standards, you help maintain a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
