RN Clinical - Cystic Fibrosis Clinic - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Union)

About the Role

As an integral part of an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse provides therapeutic care to the Cystic Fibrosis patient population. This role is accountable for coordinating patient care and delivering education to patients and their families within a compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment. The position utilizes the nursing process to assess individual and family needs, facilitate the development of care plans, and coordinate services across various sites.

Day in the Life

You will function as a key member of a multi-disciplinary team, conducting morning and evening rounds to coordinate inpatient care and collaborate with attending physicians on discharge planning. Your day involves performing clinic history and physical examinations, presenting pertinent diagnostic and treatment information, and overseeing the discharge process from the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic.

Beyond clinical duties such as wound care, blood collection, and drain tube removal, you will facilitate patient flow by assisting office staff with exam room placement and patient intake. You will serve as a resource and mentor to staff, students, and house staff, while also acting as an agent of change to promote growth and development. Communication with referring agencies, insurance case managers, and families is central to ensuring continuity of care.
