About the Role

This Registered Nurse position is based onsite at UCHealth Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs, serving the Medical Surgical North department. The role operates within a 24/7 acute care environment, providing direct patient care at a proficient level using the nursing process. The position requires adherence to applicable scope and standards of practice, as well as the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

In this fast-paced setting, you will plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments to optimize outcomes and maximize resources. The role involves monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions to a multidisciplinary care team, collaborating across disciplines to coordinate care including transfers, discharges, and referrals. You will also evaluate learning needs to provide patient and family education appropriate to their age, culture, and condition, while effectively delegating care to ancillary personnel. The position may involve precepting student nurses and new hires, requiring critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
