About the Role
As a Retirement Plan Specialist, you will take the first step down the path of learning the full process of administering, testing, and reporting on 401(k) plans. Through accelerated learning, in-depth training, and practical experience, you will quickly grow from document review to administering basic plans. You will review documents submitted by our clients, proactively keep clients updated on progress, and help clients understand the year-end reporting documents necessary to complete government filings, including the annual 5500 return.
This is a fully remote position available for candidates in select states across the US: AZ, FL, GA, ID, KS, LA, MI, MN, NC, NE, TX, UT, VA, MO, and OK. To succeed in this environment, you must have a designated workspace where you can concentrate and be productive, as well as reliable high-speed internet to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleReconcile 401(k) plans with rollovers and plan stock using Excel
- check_circleUtilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
- check_circlePrepare required 401(k) plan government filings including IRS Form 5500
- check_circleEducate clients regarding 401(k) plan administration and required documents
- check_circleReview client-submitted documents for completeness and accuracy
- check_circleExplain complex retirement plan concepts to clients in simple terms
- check_circleContact clients via phone and email to obtain information for annual reporting
Requirements
- verifiedMust be 18 years of age
- verifiedAssociate's or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- verifiedProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- verifiedMust pass a background check
- verifiedMust meet work from home requirements (designated workspace and reliable high-speed internet)
- verifiedBasic knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations (preferred)
- verifiedMust complete continuing education based on current certifications
Nice to Have
Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (business, finance, etc.) or equivalent work experience. Basic knowledge of 401(K) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL Regulations.
