About the Role
We are seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) based in San Diego, CA, to provide these essential environmental services. In this role, you will drive a box truck to visit retail customer sites, including Fortune 500 companies, to pick up, pack, and transport damaged goods, recalled products, and waste materials. You will be responsible for segregating, packing, and loading materials for safe transportation, ensuring drum counts are correct and conditions are shippable in accordance with company policies.
Your day will involve interacting with customers at each stop, preparing DOT shipping documents, and using technology such as laptops, printers, handheld devices, and iPhones to complete tasks. You will execute jobs according to site-specific Federal, State, and local regulations, as well as Clean Harbors' environmental health and safety plans. This position requires a commitment to safety, ensuring all work practices and processes are followed to protect yourself, your colleagues, and the environment.
The role involves 10-12 hour days with a significant amount of overtime. Occasional travel to El Centro is required, with hotel accommodations and per diem provided by the company. We offer company-paid training for your CDL Class B, including hazmat and tanker endorsements, which you must be eligible to obtain within six months of hire.
Hiring Process
Candidates must successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical. Please note that by position, you must be eligible to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire. Additionally, per OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard, employees in positions requiring respirators must meet facial hair standards.
