Since opening our doors in 1942, one thing has never changed: our commitment to serve, heal, lead, educate, and innovate. We believe that every award earned, every record broken, and every patient helped is a testament to the dedicated employees who fill our hallways. At Ochsner, whether you work directly with patients every day or support those who do, you are making a difference that matters.
This position provides comprehensive respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support to both in-patients and out-patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. You will be the frontline partner in patient care, monitoring and weaning oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation, drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases and EKGs, and delivering intermittent therapy. Your role involves assisting with the changing of artificial airways and providing services as ordered by physicians in strict accordance with established policies and procedures.
Beyond clinical duties, you will review and document all clinical information, educate patients and co-workers on treatment plans, and maintain professional certifications. This role requires a blend of technical precision and strong interpersonal skills to present information clearly to varying levels of individuals. It is a dynamic environment where you will work directly with patients in areas where exposure to communicable diseases or hazardous medications may occur, ensuring safety and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
