The Transport Respiratory Therapist serves as an advanced care provider delivering safe, effective respiratory support across the entire lifespan—from neonates to geriatric patients. This role is critical for providing pre-hospital advanced life-support care during both air and ground transport, managing patients from the moment of initial contact until care is successfully relinquished to receiving medical staff.
Beyond direct patient care, the Transport Respiratory Therapist acts as a vital resource and educator for patients, caregivers, hospital staff, and students. In the absence of a supervisor, the incumbent also functions as a shift team leader, ensuring seamless operations and high standards of care. The position requires independent action in cardiopulmonary assessment, airway management, ventilator selection, and interdisciplinary consultation to navigate complex clinical scenarios, including potential ECMO management.
This role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that may involve hazardous situations, extreme weather conditions, and confined spaces. The position requires mandatory on-call availability and rotation of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Team members must be prepared to adapt to frequent changes and manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of patient and customer satisfaction.
We are an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to a diverse workforce. We consider qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
