About the Role
This position serves as a vital support within the Respiratory Care Services department at Blount Memorial Hospital. As a student or recent graduate, you will perform duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with physicians' orders and department policies. Working under the direct supervision of a Respiratory Therapist, you will gain hands-on experience performing respiratory therapy procedures, documenting care, and providing patient and family education.
Your day will involve adhering to strict infection control and quality initiatives, ensuring equipment is properly cleaned and disinfected between patients. You will learn to analyze and report blood gas results from various sites while communicating effectively with supervisors, therapists, and technicians. This role is designed to align with your clinical progression, with duties assigned based on your competency validation as you advance through your training or early career.
