Riverside Community Care is a growing, stable, and highly regarded organization dedicated to providing person-centered supports for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injury. Our mission is to help each person learn daily living skills, build meaningful relationships, and become a valued member of their community. We strive to make a true difference in people's lives through rewarding work, fostering an environment rooted in respect, integrity, and engagement.
Our commitment to our team and community has been recognized with a Boston Globe Top Workplace award and a best-in-state employer designation by Forbes. We value the richness of a diverse applicant pool and are committed to building an inclusive and culturally competent organization.
As a Residential Counselor, you will join a supportive team dedicated to helping individuals maintain their physical and emotional health while living safely in the community. Your role combines support, supervision, coaching, and companionship, with every interaction rooted in respect for each individual's uniqueness.
You will work alongside residents to foster relationships with housemates, family members, and neighbors. You will encourage residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams by developing and practicing skills that increase independence, confidence, and self-determination. This includes facilitating participation in community activities, work, and volunteer opportunities that reflect their goals and interests.
Our homes are located in welcoming neighborhood settings, typically housing 3–5 people who share private bedrooms and common living spaces. Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms and take pride in their home, while staff provide ongoing guidance and support. Employees are available 24/7, with staffing schedules tailored to meet the specific needs of the individuals served. Every shift offers the chance to build relationships, witness progress, and be part of something meaningful.
