This position serves as a critical component of the Dallas ISD Police and Security Services Department, dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for students, staff, and visitors. The role requires a Peace Officer who can function with a high degree of independence while upholding the rigorous standards set by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCOLE).
You will be responsible for patrolling assigned campuses and routes, responding to crisis situations, accidents, and criminal reports. The day-to-day scope includes investigating criminal offenses, collecting and preserving evidence, and conducting surveillance. You will also serve as a liaison with other law enforcement agencies, participate in task forces, and engage in public relations by responding to community inquiries and complaints.
Candidates must comply with all hiring standards prescribed by the District and the Police and Security Services Department. The selection process includes mandatory physical, psychiatric, and drug testing. Successful candidates must be bonded as required by Texas Education Code §37.081(h) and demonstrate the ability to maintain emotional control under stress.
