Founded in Brockton, MA in 1975, BAMSI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to "bringing people and services together." We have grown into one of the most trusted organizations working with children, families, individuals, and seniors to enrich their lives. Each year, our organization impacts the lives of more than 50,000 individuals.
At its core, BAMSI is about building connections. Our mission is to meet each person where they are so they can learn, grow, and thrive. We are committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, and Accessibility, striving to create a holistic system of care and to abolish the stigmas surrounding mental illness, disability, and addiction.
As a Residential Counselor, you will provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE). This role is designed to foster skills for daily living and community integration, allowing residents to achieve greater independence. You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to dignity, respect, and evidence-based practices.
In this position, you will make a direct impact on residents' growth by teaching essential activities of daily living (ADLs), such as cooking, budgeting, and medication management, alongside socialization skills. Working under clinician guidance, you will implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions, advocate for residents' needs, and model healthy coping strategies. Your day-to-day work involves maintaining a safe, clean home environment, completing timely documentation, and transporting residents to appointments and community activities.
We offer purpose-driven work where you can see the tangible results of your support. BAMSI provides hands-on training and support to help you earn your MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification and develop new, in-demand skills. We foster a culture where you can grow through career development opportunities and highly specialized paid trainings.
Candidates must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain MAP certification within three months if not currently certified. We look for individuals with compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care. Those with lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese) are particularly encouraged to apply.
BAMSI is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
