The Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) serves as a vital member of the care team, responsible for the daily well-being of residents in a designated area of the facility. This role is centered on executing the interdisciplinary Care Plan, ensuring that every resident receives personalized attention that meets their physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
In this position, you will provide restorative care, helping residents maintain a high standard of personal grooming and cleanliness. You will work to create a home-like atmosphere in resident care areas, ensuring they are clean, safe, and comfortable. A key part of your day involves observing residents and communicating their needs, changes in condition, or concerns to Licensed Staff and department heads in a timely manner. You will also document these observations daily on Nursing Flow Records and other required documentation.
As a CNA, you are a cooperative team member who functions under the direction of the Licensed Staff assigned to the specific unit. You must be ready to adapt to the dynamic needs of the facility, including providing emergency care when necessary and functioning appropriately during disasters or evacuations. Success in this role requires a genuine desire to work with the geriatric population and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues.
