The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Dell Medical School is dedicated to advancing mental health through rigorous scientific inquiry and clinical excellence. This grant-funded position serves as a vital component of our research ecosystem, supporting a collaborative team of faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate assistants in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Austin.
As a Research Associate I, you will play a key role in executing and supporting scientific research projects. This position is designed to bridge the gap between experimental design and data realization, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results that contribute to our broader research goals. You will work closely with Principal Investigators and senior research scientists to conduct experiments, manage participant assessments, and analyze complex datasets.
Your day-to-day work involves a dynamic mix of laboratory and administrative responsibilities. You will review medical records, conduct study screenings, and coordinate subject recruitment and scheduling. Beyond data collection, you will be instrumental in interpreting results, preparing reports for senior review, and assisting in the drafting of manuscripts and presentations. The role also requires active participation in protocol development, including the optimization of research procedures and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical guidelines through IRB submissions.
This is a renewable position with an end date of August 31, 2027, contingent upon funding availability, work performance, and progress toward research objectives. You will have the opportunity to mentor new staff and interns while contributing to grant proposal preparations.
