The Division of Epidemiology within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Utah is dedicated to advancing health through rigorous research. The team operates within the Trajectories of Resilience, Communities, and Health (TORCH) Lab, which is situated on both the University of Utah campus and the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs campus.
This Research Associate position serves as a vital link in understanding the musculoskeletal sequelae resulting from military exposures, sports, and recreation, including traumatic brain injuries. The role is designed to evaluate musculoskeletal and orthopaedic clinical programs while supporting the broader mission of health systems research.
You will work both independently and collaboratively to assist researchers in epidemiology, policy, and program evaluation. The position offers a dynamic day-to-day environment where you will manage research projects from inception to completion. Your work will involve designing studies, managing complex datasets, and conducting both qualitative and quantitative analyses. You will also play a key role in regulatory compliance, grant writing, and manuscript preparation, while mentoring staff and representing the University at various sites and organizations.
