The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at UPMC/Magee Women's Hospital is seeking a board-eligible/certified reproductive endocrinologist to join a busy clinical program. This role offers a unique blend of clinical practice with opportunities for research, teaching, and collaboration with the Magee Women's Research Institute (MWRI), one of the nation's top biomedical research institutions.
The Center for Fertility and Reproductive Endocrinology (CFRE) is a robust unit integrating reproductive endocrinology, fertility preservation, reproductive urology, genetics, embryology, andrology, and endocrinology. The division also houses the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Center and the Reproductive Late-Effects program, providing long-term care for patients after gonadotoxic therapy. Providers frequently collaborate with the Center for Reproduction & Transplantation, focusing on clinical and translational research in gonadal tissue cryopreservation and transplantation.
UPMC is a world-renowned healthcare provider and insurer with a $23 billion budget, employing over 92,000 people, including 4,900 physicians. The system operates over 40 academic, community, and specialty hospitals and 800 outpatient sites. You will join a team of 7 physicians and 6 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in a dynamic environment where time is split approximately 80% clinical and 20% teaching and research. The position is primarily clinical, requiring strong technical skills and knowledge, with call responsibilities split evenly among providers. This includes some weekend coverage for time-sensitive testing and procedures.
The role is integral to the division's commitment to training the next generation of REI specialists through a robust fellowship program. Academic rank will be determined by your qualifications, experience, and achievements. While the position is clinical, the division encourages research opportunities through the University of Pittsburgh for those interested in advancing the field of fertility and hormonal conditions affecting fertility.
