The Real Deal is seeking a dynamic reporter to join our rapidly growing media company, headquartered in New York City. This role is designed for a journalist with a keen interest in money, power, and personalities, who desires to explore how the real estate industry intersects with politics, finance, law, and entertainment. You will be responsible for breaking news, cultivating sources, and pitching compelling story ideas while writing clean, authoritative copy under tight deadlines.
As a reporter, you will contribute three to six original articles per week, typically focusing on specific markets such as New York City, South Florida, Chicago, Texas, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, alongside occasional national topics. You will also produce in-depth features for our monthly print magazine and collaborate on special investigative projects. This position requires a presence in the Dallas or DFW metro area.
The Real Deal is the largest real-estate news outlet in the US, reaching millions of professionals daily through our diverse media channels. We have received over 60 awards for editorial excellence in the past six years, including the General Excellence award from the Society of Business Writers and Editors. Quantcast rates us among the 300-most visited sites in the US, boasting the wealthiest audience and one of the most educated readerships in the industry.
We are a plugged-in news outlet that serves the entire real estate sector, much like Variety serves entertainment or Politico serves Beltway politics. Our team values diversity and inclusion, partnering with employees to support these values through the workplace and higher education programs for rising journalists.
The Real Deal is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
