The Relief Driver – CDL (B) role is a vital part of our local operations. While we operate across a vast continent, the dynamics of waste management are deeply local. This position ensures that our customers—ranging from small businesses to major municipalities—receive prompt, courteous, and complete service. You will be the face of Republic Services on the road, upholding our reputation for safety and reliability while contributing to our goal of building sustainable neighborhoods.

About the Role

As a Relief Driver, you will safely operate a collection truck along designated routes, ensuring the efficient removal of waste and recycling materials. Your day involves more than just driving; you are responsible for the integrity of the vehicle and the safety of your community. You will conduct thorough pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor vehicle conditions daily, and complete necessary reports to ensure any defects are addressed immediately.

This role requires you to interact professionally with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues, ensuring every route is serviced with care. You will identify unsatisfactory waste containers, manage accidental spills according to safety standards, and actively participate in our ReSOP safety program. Whether operating manual or automatic controls to load refuse or driving to disposal sites, your focus remains on adhering to all company, state, and federal regulations while maintaining high productivity standards.
