Regulatory Compliance Advisory Specialist

About the Role

This Level 3 Specialist position sits within the Regulatory Relations function of Compliance, serving as a critical bridge between CLS, its business lines, and key regulatory bodies. The role exists to ensure seamless interaction with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY), the Fed Board Regulation HH team, and the CLS Oversight Committee. You will be the primary resource for managing regulatory examinations, supervisory activities, and the continuous monitoring of the organization's DFMU (Designated Financial Market Utility) status.

In this capacity, you will counsel business lines on regulatory action items, document submissions, and compliance requirements. The position demands a strategic mindset to support the development of reporting for senior management and the Board, while also leading the tracking of remedial activities. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing policies and procedures, supporting CLS's growth program through Regulation HH ANPC and Regulation Y activities, and embedding compliance into project working groups.

Day in the Life

Your day will involve a dynamic mix of high-level strategy and operational execution. You will coordinate end-to-end reporting processes, managing complex data sets and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to facilitating responses to regulatory actions, managing continuous monitoring sessions for various business divisions, and tracking regulatory requests against strict deadlines.

You will act as a strategic advisor to business lines, influencing how they engage with the regulatory environment. This includes fostering a culture of compliance, maintaining relationships with the regulatory community across jurisdictions, and assisting in the evolution of CLS's relationships with industry groups. Whether working independently on routine matters or collaborating in a small team to solve complex regulatory challenges, you will be expected to demonstrate initiative, discretion, and a profound sense of urgency.

Hiring Process

4. Final Interview: Discussion with the CCO and Head of Regulatory Relations to align on strategic vision and team fit.
