This position is a Clinic Float role based at Avera Medical Group McGreevy-69th & Western. You will provide professional nursing care under the direction of a provider, delivering general nursing care to patients and administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
In this role, you will coordinate patient care activities for the clinic, ensuring a timely flow of patients and prioritizing those in emergency situations. Your day will involve preparing equipment and assisting providers during procedures, treatments, examinations, and testing. You will greet patients, prepare them for physical examinations, and screen them for appropriate information, including obtaining health history and taking vitals.
You will also be responsible for educating patients and families about diagnostic processes, medications, nutrition, and health maintenance. Additionally, you will maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies, ensure cleanliness, and assure appropriate labeling of pathology specimens according to lab protocols.
