Our Float Critical Care department serves as a Divisional Critical Care Resource Pool, ensuring that patients across Medical ICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, and Coronary Care receive consistent, high-level support. About the Role
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the 12.5-hour Specialty Float Critical Care pool, you will be an essential part of our evening shift team (7P–8A). This role is designed for experienced nurses who thrive in dynamic environments, requiring you to cover several different critical care areas. You will function as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize plans to address specific patient needs.
In this position, you will provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards. Your day-to-day responsibilities include supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient care providers, and consistently setting and evaluating priorities to achieve measurable outcomes. You will also play a vital role in maintaining safety by reporting identified issues, such as hazardous environments or medical errors, and by advancing your own knowledge and that of the patient care team through evidence-based practices.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this position will be required to complete all orientation requirements of Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, including successful completion of all Orientation Programs. Specific certification requirements, such as IV certification, must be met within 90 days of hire if not already held.
