About the Role
This position is dedicated to providing compassionate nursing care to patients seeking abortion care. You will support and enhance clinical and operational activities within the scope of your knowledge, experience, and training, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and patient confidentiality. Your role involves providing comprehensive support to providers across all clinic areas, including intake, patient education, diagnostic ultrasound services, the lab, pre-op, post-op/recovery, utility rooms, and discharge.
You will be the face of our mission, interacting with patients from diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliations, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientations. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist health care providers during examinations and adhere to OSHA regulations for handling biological matter
- check_circlePerform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens according to CLIA standards
- check_circleMonitor pre- and post-surgical patients in the recovery area, addressing their medical and emotional needs
- check_circleEducate patients on post-operative instructions, contraception options, and follow-up care procedures
- check_circleMaintain patient data in EMR/EHR systems and adhere to documentation standards for claims processing
- check_circleEnsure patient confidentiality and compliance with all PPGP policies regarding health information
- check_circleConduct diagnostic ultrasounds for surgery and medical patients, ensuring image quality and completing documentation
- check_circleManage inventory of ultrasound and recovery room supplies and report equipment maintenance needs
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- verifiedCompact RN license for Kansas and Missouri
- verifiedBLS certification
- verifiedExperience with electronic medical records systems required
- verifiedMinimum of two years' experience in clinical setting
- verifiedMinimum of one year women's health care experience
Nice to Have
Prior working knowledge of Epic electronic medical records systems. Prior experience in a surgical setting. Prior experience with sonography. Bilingual capabilities.
