As a national learning health system, Mission Hospital is transforming care delivery, advancing clinical outcomes, and empowering nursing teams in a collaborative effort to give people a healthier tomorrow. Located in Asheville, North Carolina, we serve as the regional tertiary and quaternary care center for Western North Carolina. We are proud to be the region's only trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, Level III neonatal intensive care unit, and children's hospital.
Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our cutting-edge capabilities, including SPOT Technology that detects sepsis earlier than the human eye and an Enhanced Surgical Recovery program that reduces opioid prescriptions and post-surgical readmissions. With stroke response times nearly half of the national average and a Magnet® designation for nursing excellence, we are dedicated to providing care with warmth, compassion, and dignity.
As a member of Mission Health, an operating division of HCA Healthcare, we are recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies® by the Ethisphere Institute more than ten times. HCA Healthcare continues to invest heavily in charitable care, spending an estimated $3.7 billion on uncompensated expenses to support our community.
