About the Role
Personalcare Registered Professional Nursing P.C. is seeking enthusiastic and hard-working Registered Nurses to join the Medical Department at the Genesee County Jail in Batavia, NY. This position operates on a full-time day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) or on a per-diem basis. The RN will monitor and evaluate nursing care in strict accordance with Personalcare's philosophy, goals, and objectives, directly reporting to the Medical Director or other mid-level practitioners.
The role is fast-paced and requires the ability to multi-task while maintaining a strong grasp of patient assessment skills. As a Registered Nurse, you will assess and provide comprehensive treatment care while observing and maintaining necessary security requirements. You will be responsible for conducting sick calls for inmates, providing provisional diagnoses and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries defined by written protocol, and implementing care plans that promote the well-being of patients.
A key aspect of this position involves ensuring nursing practice complies with established standards. You will monitor treatment services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication, advise the Health Services Administrator and Nurse Supervisor when issues arise, and assist in coordinating monthly health care staff meetings. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of controlled substances, narcotics, and sharps in compliance with state and federal laws, while providing health counseling to patients.
Hiring Process
Successful candidates will undergo a 2-week orientation period. During this time, you will receive on-the-job training and shadow the existing nursing staff to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
