Reston Hospital Center, a vital part of the HCA Virginia Health System, is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to our community. Our ICU department serves as a high-acuity environment where a multidisciplinary team collaborates to support critically ill patients and their families. We foster a culture rooted in ethics, safety, and unwavering collaboration, ensuring that every interaction reflects our commitment to excellence.
We are seeking Registered Nurse Residents to join our ICU team through a specialized program designed to support new graduate RNs transitioning into critical care. This role is more than just a position; it is a structured journey of professional growth. Residents will work under the guidance of experienced preceptors, engaging in clinical shifts, simulations, and ongoing education to master the complexities of intensive care.
In this role, you will deliver direct patient care, performing assessments, administering medications, and monitoring vital signs while responding dynamically to changes in patient conditions. You will collaborate closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans. A key part of your day involves educating patients and families on treatments, recovery processes, and discharge instructions, ensuring they feel supported throughout their journey.
Our Nurse Residency Program provides a robust framework for your success. You will participate in structured classes, high-fidelity simulations, and continuous clinical competency evaluations. This program is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the demands of a high-acuity ICU setting, offering strong professional development opportunities within a patient-focused environment.
Interested candidates are invited to apply to join our team. The selection process focuses on identifying individuals who embody our core values of compassion and ethics. Successful applicants will be welcomed into our residency program to begin their transition into critical care nursing.
