This position serves as a vital part of our psychiatric and mental health nursing team, providing direct patient care grounded in the ANA Standards of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing, Butler Hospital policies, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. As a Charge Nurse, you will lead the shift, assuming responsibility for treatment planning to coordinate the management of medical and nursing care, as well as discharge planning for your patients.
In this role, you will act as an active team member, assisting colleagues and accepting additional assignments to ensure essential patient care and unit responsibilities are met. A key aspect of the position involves coordinating psychiatric and/or medical emergencies, ensuring that individuals in crisis receive proper care while maintaining safety for all other patients. You will administer medications with a thorough understanding of their actions, modes of administration, side effects, and contraindications.

This position is eligible for competitive compensation packages designed to support your professional growth and well-being. Eligible benefits include a $3.00/hr. Charge Pay, differential pay for evenings ($1.50/hr.), nights ($2.75/hr.), and weekends (15%/hr.), as well as a $2,000/year RN Loan Repayment program.
