Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and treatments
- check_circleConduct initial medical screenings and comprehensive physical assessments for incoming inmates
- check_circleDocument patient assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in the electronic medical record
- check_circleCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- check_circleSupervise and assist LPNs and nursing assistants in patient care tasks
- check_circleProvide health education to inmates on disease prevention and health management
- check_circleEnsure compliance with state, federal, and facility healthcare regulations and policies
- check_circleParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory reporting data collection
- check_circleMaintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring they are stocked and functioning properly
- check_circleRespond to and manage medical emergencies, trauma, and acute health crises
Requirements
- verifiedCurrent, valid Registered Nurse license
- verified1-3 years of healthcare experience
- verifiedActive CPR/BLS certificate
Nice to Have
1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a correctional healthcare or similar environment. Experience in roles that involve direct patient care or administrative support in a regulated environment. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures as they relate to the correctional setting.
