As a Registered Nurse in the Nursery, you will provide direct clinical patient care, assuming responsibility for assessing, planning, and implementing care for assigned patients on a per-shift and unit level. This role involves supervising staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supporting the Chief Nursing Officer in maintaining high standards of clinical competency and resource management.
You will coordinate and integrate patient care based on the nursing process, directing care according to established safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control standards. Your goal is to ensure patients are discharged with an optimum level of care. Additionally, you will administer medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
In times of emergency or disaster, you will fulfill all Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities. This includes knowing the hospital's emergency codes, understanding the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adhering to all related policies and procedures.
