About the Role
The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or Clinical Coordinator to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care on a nursing unit. This role involves supervising non-RN personnel and, when assuming the charge role, delegating and supervising unit activities. The position may require working on other nursing units based on the distribution of staff and patients.
In this capacity, you will function as a preceptor to new staff and serve as a charge nurse. You will demonstrate specific competency in the care of neuro patients, including neuro assessment, airway management, caring for tracheostomy patients, and assisting physicians during special neuro procedures. Your expertise will also be applied to the 'TIA' teaching program, the use of halo braces, and the care of patients on ventilators.
