We are seeking a competent Nurse to join our Medsurg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care clinical settings. In this role, you will practice independently while demonstrating a comprehensive awareness of complex clinical situations. You will provide both routine and complex care aligned with patient treatment plans, developing the ability to effectively manage contingencies as they arise.
As a key member of the team, you will make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers to ensure the smooth management of the clinical environment. Your work will involve addressing the increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families, ensuring care is delivered with empathy and precision.
Your day will be defined by the application of the nursing process, from assessment and diagnosis to planning, intervention, and evaluation. You will administer medications and treatments using established protocols, closely monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Documentation of patient history, symptoms, and care provided will be a consistent part of your workflow.
Beyond direct patient care, you will play a vital role in patient education, assessing learning needs and providing guidance to patients, family members, and caregivers. You will also anticipate admission, discharge, and transfer needs to facilitate efficient patient flow, utilizing communication tools to ensure a seamless transition of care.
Candidates must possess a valid RN License in the state of employment or a compact license. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with PALS required specifically for CHRISTUS Children's Hospital. While a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred, we value the practical experience you bring.
We are looking for individuals with a minimum of 2 years of combined experience in Medsurg, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care (5 years preferred). This is a PRN position with a work schedule of 7 AM to 7 PM.
At CHRISTUS, we are committed to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. We expect our nurses to demonstrate accountability for nursing research and quality improvement activities while adhering to federal, state, and local healthcare regulations. We value stewardship of equipment and resources and encourage our team to actively participate in resourcing efforts and training others on operations and ethics.
We consider qualified applicants regardless of background and are dedicated to providing an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives contribute to better patient outcomes.
