A key component of your role involves assessing learning needs and providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers to ensure they are equipped to manage their health journey.

Newly hired experienced RNs are required to attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire. You will be paired with a designated, trained staff member for precepting to ensure a smooth transition. Initial onboarding requirements are validated through the successful completion of organizational entry competency validation and a Perioperative Department-specific competency validation. All associates must also complete annual competency verification requirements.
To support your professional growth, CHRISTUS Health provides grace periods for obtaining required certifications based on your experience level. Candidates with at least one year of acute care clinical experience in a similar service line within the past three years are considered "Experienced Associates," while those without this experience are classified as "New to the Specialty."
Basic Life Support (BLS) is required at the time of hire with no grace period. All certifications must be obtained within the designated time frames in accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy.
