Our mission is rooted in our values and Mercy Service Standards, ensuring that every patient receives care that honors their rights and confidentiality. We foster a collaborative environment where your voice matters and where you can help shape the future of healthcare through innovation, technology, and compassion.
The 4D unit is an intermediate ICU, also known as a Progressive Care Unit, featuring 28 fully monitored beds. This team provides high-acuity care to critically ill post-operative cardiothoracic and vascular patients, as well as medical overflow. The environment is busy, team-oriented, and deeply fulfilling, offering endless learning opportunities.\n In this role, you will utilize the nursing process to provide comprehensive patient care while maintaining professional accountability for your assigned patients. You will evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. The unit frequently manages complex therapies, including chest tube management, lytic therapy, antidysrhythmics, low-dose vasopressors, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and Precedex.
We work closely with the Neuro Trauma PCU and ICUs, offering opportunities for cross-training between departments. As part of the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs, 4D is dedicated to mentoring. Team members are supported by career path programs designed to transition nurses into ICU units over an 18-month track.
From day one, Mercy offers outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period. We are a growing organization where you will grow with us. Join a caring, collaborative team where you can deliver compassionate care in a setting that values your contribution.
Mercy is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
