About the Team

Start here at Hartford Healthcare and work where every moment matters! Every day, more than 40,000 colleagues come to work with one thing in common: Pride in what we do. We invite you to become part of Connecticut's most comprehensive healthcare network.

The Hospital of Central CT is an acute-care community teaching hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by a talented team of leading professionals, we provide a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. As part of the Hartford HealthCare system, which includes 7 acute care hospitals and a comprehensive Behavioral Health Network, our unified culture enhances access, affordability, equity, and excellence.

About the Role

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work in the NICU in the Family Birth Place. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is staffed by a multidisciplinary care team that includes board-certified neonatologists, certified pediatric physician assistants, and neonatal nurses. Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, you will utilize evidence-based practices to develop a plan of care for a complex, multi-varianced population of patients. This role involves meeting the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

At Hartford Healthcare, our Registered Nurses have the opportunity to practice at the top of their license using research, innovation, and evidence-based practices. We offer our Graduate Registered Nurses clinical instruction and additional learning opportunities as they complete the Nurse Residency program. You will care for a full patient assignment with an expanding scope of responsibilities over time, acting as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.

Why Join Us

The Hospital of Central CT doesn't just take great care of our patients; we take great care of our Registered Nurses too! Our benefit options are designed so you can care for yourself and your family, just as you care for others when you are here. We are focused on supporting our colleagues with:

  • Growth: Automatic enrollment into the Nurse Residency Program for all graduate RNs with less than one year of experience.
  • Education: Tuition Reimbursement up to $5,250.00 after six months of employment and up to 40% tuition discounts with partnering institutions for colleagues and dependents.
  • Wellness: Employee assistance and wellness programs with a strong focus on promoting mental health, plus loan forgiveness for qualifying existing student loans.
  • Perks: Paid time off, health insurance packages, free on-site parking, and discounts on services, products, and optional coverages like movie tickets and pet insurance.

Hiring Process

To apply, please submit your application through the Hartford Healthcare careers portal. Qualified candidates will be contacted by the Nursing Leadership team to discuss the next steps in the interview process.

Equal Opportunity

Hartford HealthCare is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where every colleague feels valued and supported.
