This position serves as a pivotal member of the healthcare team, dedicated to coordinating and delivering comprehensive patient care within a philosophy of collaborative practice. The role is designed to ensure the highest standards of patient safety, education, and discharge planning while fostering a positive environment for both patients and staff.
As a Weekend Nurse, you will work specifically on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. This schedule includes a specialized "WOW" (Weekend Only) position which offers increased hourly pay to recognize the dedication required to cover these critical days. You will coordinate activities with ancillary departments and report directly to the Nurse Manager or their designee.
Your day involves planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions to provide the best possible care. You will initiate and implement patient care plans, make appropriate nursing assignments based on staff skill levels, and accurately execute physicians' orders. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to patient teaching and ensuring a clean, quiet environment that supports healing.
You will act as a resource for the team, guiding personnel through problem-solving and participating in orientation and in-service training. Whether managing routine care or remaining calm and resourceful during emergencies, your ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate excellent customer service will be central to the patient experience.
Candidates must possess a current Mississippi State license as an RN and be graduates of an accredited school of nursing. One year of RN experience is required. Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate strong judgment, communication skills, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. A current CPR review is also mandatory.
