The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a vital coordinator of nursing care, working under the direction of the Nurse Supervisor, Manager, and Director of Nursing Services. This role is dedicated to maintaining the health, safety, and integrity of patients, with a specific focus on those with substance use disorders. The RN provides direct patient care while supervising Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and clinical support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective treatment environment.
In this position, you will act as a key liaison between physicians and the patient care team. Your day involves conducting nursing assessments at intake to identify conditions, initiating problem lists, and creating comprehensive treatment plans. You will continuously monitor patient needs, updating care plans as necessary, and collaborate with physicians during rounds to review orders and specialized care requirements. Beyond clinical duties, the role includes leading staff by delegating responsibilities, facilitating educational groups, and guiding team members in problem-solving and decision-making.
The RN is also responsible for ensuring compliance with safety protocols, including COVID-19 measures, and managing the documentation of critical reports such as quality assurance, infection control, and pharmacy errors. This position offers the opportunity to provide leadership, coordinate clinical learning experiences, and assist patients with healthcare needs outside the facility.
