About the Role
Under the direction of SCN and JEWISHcolorado, the Regional Security Advisor (RSA) serves as a vital representative, security advisor, liaison, and training coordinator for the Colorado Jewish community. This role exists to provide strategic direction and maintain oversight for the development, organization, and implementation of comprehensive security programs.
In this position, you will be the primary point of contact for security plans and policies, ranging from emergency communication systems to physical security protocols. You will act as a bridge between the community and local, state, and federal law enforcement, coordinating on both physical and cyber safety matters. During crisis response and mitigation efforts, you will serve as a liaison to assist local incident commanders or step in as an incident commander yourself. Your day-to-day involves monitoring intelligence related to terrorism and public safety, conducting threat and hazard assessments, and providing ongoing training and education to a wide range of community groups, including synagogues, schools, and community centers.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for an interview will be required to pass criminal, financial, and reputational/conduct background checks. Additionally, the successful candidate must be able to obtain a government security clearance of at least a SECRET level.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleServe as liaison between community organizations and federal, state, and local law enforcement

- check_circleCoordinate special event security planning and implementation for community agencies
- check_circleManage relationships with community leadership and officials to promote security support
- check_circlePrepare reports and correspondence for key leadership including SCN National Director and Federation CEO
- check_circleDevelop, organize, and monitor regional security programs for Jewish community institutions
- check_circleCreate and implement security plans, policies, and emergency communication protocols
- check_circleAssist with developing, implementing, and testing all-hazards preparedness and response plans
- check_circleCommunicate with media and assist PR teams in responding to inquiries regarding community safety
- check_circleConduct threat, hazard, and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigations
- check_circleProvide security training, education, and awareness to community groups and leadership
- check_circleMonitor terrorism and public safety intelligence, analyzing and disseminating relevant information
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree from an accredited university
- verifiedLaw enforcement certification from accredited academy or US Military Criminal Investigative/Law Enforcement MOS
- verifiedAt least 10 years of sworn law enforcement experience
- verifiedFormal law enforcement leadership experience
- verifiedAbility to obtain SECRET level government security clearance
- verifiedProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and PowerPoint
- verifiedExperience developing budgets for operations and equipment
- verifiedCertified Protection Professional or Physical Security Professional certification (preferred)
