The Regional MDS Coordinator serves as a strategic leader within Calvado Care, driving quality outcomes and financial stability across multiple facilities in the Western New York region. This position is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process. By bridging the gap between clinical documentation and reimbursement, the role guarantees optimal payment under the Patient-Driven Payment Model (PDPM) while maintaining strict adherence to CMS regulations.
This is not a remote position. The successful candidate will act as a "road warrior," traveling regularly to facilities for in-person visits, survey assistance, and emergency support. The day-to-day involves a dynamic blend of high-level data analysis, on-site auditing, and hands-on education. You will lead interdisciplinary teams to translate complex RAI Manual requirements into practical workflows, ensuring that every facility is audit-ready and positioned for success in quality programs like VBP and NHQI.
Your work directly influences the organization's ability to secure accurate clinical reimbursement and improve Five-Star ratings. By reducing error rates and preventing common audit risks, you will help the company defend against regulatory reviews from OMIG, RAC, and MAC. Furthermore, you will foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, ensuring that nursing, therapy, and social work teams are aligned in their documentation and care planning efforts.
