Regional Delivery Driver - Part Time

About the Role

The Starmark Part-Time Regional Delivery Driver plays a vital role in the funeral industry by performing weekly "white glove" deliveries of Starmark funeral products to funeral homes within a 150-mile radius of a local service center. This position is designed to support the Service Center Director in fulfilling customer needs while maintaining the highest standards of service and respect.

As a part-time role, the schedule typically consists of 1–3 days per week. Drivers manage routes with approximately 10–12 stops, ensuring on-time delivery and the secure handling of sensitive products. The role requires a unique blend of logistical precision and emotional intelligence, as drivers interact with funeral professionals, crematory operators, and the public, often representing Starmark during difficult times.

Day in the Life

Your day begins with a thorough inspection of the truck and a review of bills of lading to ensure all items are loaded correctly before departing the dock. You will navigate local highways and utilize GPS routing tools to complete your route, verifying deliveries against the bill of lading and collecting necessary signatures or COD payments.

Beyond driving, the role involves physical responsibilities such as loading and securing products using specialized packaging, pads, and straps to prevent damage. On days without deliveries, you will assist with loading and unloading products on the shipping dock or building specialized packaging skids. The position requires the ability to work independently while maintaining open communication with the team and honoring the privacy and needs of the families served.

Hiring Process

Candidates must be willing to undergo a DOT-required physical exam (paid by Starmark) and obtain a driver's medical card. The process includes verifying a valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record, specifically ensuring no recent convictions for reckless driving, DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, or leaving the scene of an accident.
