Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. As a privately held, 100% USA-owned company, we operate primary seafood processing facilities and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Our global operations produce finished wild Alaska seafood products in six countries, serving customers in over 50 nations. With approximately 9,000 employees worldwide, we partner with over 5,400 independent fishermen and crewmembers to harvest and process virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab from the North Pacific and Alaska, alongside cultured and wild species from trusted global sources.
The Refrigeration Operator II is a critical role designed to maintain the optimal operation of our industrial refrigeration systems and associated equipment. You will serve as a proactive guardian of our production continuity in a fast-paced environment, ensuring acceptable temperatures for all product types through strict adherence to operating procedures and close collaboration with the QA/QC team.
Your day-to-day involves managing a diverse array of equipment, including control systems (manual and computerized), plate, blast, tunnel, and spiral freezers, compressors, condensers, pumps, RSW chillers, ice machines, and cooler units. Beyond routine operation, you will plan and execute preventative maintenance, document inspections and rounds, and coordinate with contractors or technicians for repairs. A key component of this position is mentorship; you will train Operator 1s and Refrigeration Assistants in daily activities while actively participating in Trident's Process Safety Management (PSM) program to uphold our rigorous environmental and safety standards.
This role operates within a 24-hour production schedule, requiring flexibility to work fluctuating shifts that typically range from 12 to 14 hours. The work environment is industrial and demanding; employees are frequently exposed to wet, humid, and extreme cold conditions, loud noise levels, and moving mechanical parts. Living quarters, including group housing in a dorm-style setting, are provided within Trident facilities to support the remote nature of our operations.
We value a strong work ethic, professional conduct both on and off the clock, and the ability to work reliably under pressure. Our culture emphasizes teamwork, safety, and continuous learning, with a commitment to training and development for all team members.
This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Candidates must be prepared to meet all medical and safety requirements, including valid medical insurance coverage for Alaska residents.
