About the Role
As a Records Tech 2 in the Radiology-Diagnostic department, you serve as a vital link between patients and the imaging team. Under the supervision of the Radiology Manager, your primary mission is to ensure the accuracy and accessibility of patient radiology records. You will be responsible for assembling and maintaining these records, screening patient requisitions, and scheduling exams in the proper sequence. A key part of your day involves explaining preparation procedures to patients and registering them in the hospital and radiology information systems (HIS/RIS).
This role requires a blend of technical precision and compassionate patient interaction. You will effectively respond to customer service needs while demonstrating culturally appropriate interactions with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Adhering to UTMC Customer Service values and iCare Standards, you will actively participate in performance improvement activities and seek out ways to assist both patients and co-workers.
