As Chief Mechanic, you will lead a dedicated group of technicians responsible for the critical turnaround service of cars, parts, and subassemblies used in rotation. This role serves as the backbone of our development group, ensuring that all components are built to exact specifications and meet the rigorous demands of IndyCar and Team Penske requirements.
You will work closely with the Assembly Manager and Crew Chief to establish work targets and oversee daily planning. Your leadership extends beyond the shop floor; you will actively participate in track team testing days, including straight-line and wind tunnel tests, and may support on-road race team turnarounds. This position is vital for maintaining the production schedule, ensuring quality, and driving continuous improvement in our processes, materials, and equipment.
We foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and safety. You will be expected to maintain a clean, organized shop floor and race track that meets our high standards for appearance. Safety is paramount, and you must ensure that all team members adhere to best practices regarding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
