Quality Inspector - SC 2nd shift

About the Role

As a Quality Inspector at Burke Aerospace, you serve as the critical gatekeeper for product integrity, ensuring that all products and raw materials meet rigorous standards under the guidance of the Quality Manager. This role is essential to maintaining our commitment to precision and safety in the aerospace manufacturing environment.

Your day involves a dynamic blend of technical inspection and analytical problem-solving. You will utilize a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments to verify dimensions, performing necessary mathematical computations to determine the extent of any nonconformance. Beyond the bench, you are responsible for maintaining the integrity of our inspection stamp, managing multiple competing priorities, and ensuring that all work instructions are strictly followed. You will also play an active role in continuous improvement activities, supporting the department's business objectives while adapting to shifting workflow needs and training requirements.

Working Environment

This position operates within an active manufacturing facility subject to typical industrial conditions. The environment includes exposure to noise levels requiring raised voices for communication, vibration from machinery, and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, dusts, or oils. You will work in proximity to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, requiring strict adherence to OSHA, health, safety, and environmental protocols. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift, climb, and perform repetitive motions, as well as keen visual acuity for inspecting small parts and defects at close range.

Hiring Process

Candidates with DQR or SQA experience are preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and manufacturing ERPs (such as Job Boss or Unipoint) is expected.
