Oil-Dri Corporation of America is a leading manufacturer and supplier of specialty sorbent products for consumer and business-to-business markets. Voted a Top 100 workplace by the Chicago Tribune, we are a family-controlled organization that emphasizes honesty, integrity, and accountability. Our mission is to "Create Value From Sorbent Minerals," leveraging millions of tons of specialty mineral reserves including calcium bentonite, attapulgite, and diatomaceous shale across our mines and facilities in Georgia, Mississippi, Illinois, and California.
Oil-Dri is dedicated to fulfilling its strategic Mission, Vision, and WE CARE values. We are committed to providing equal opportunity for all teammates and qualified candidates without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, mental or physical disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
This position serves as a vital support pillar for Oil-Dri's Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies, ensuring they align with the company's strategic direction. Based at an active mine site, primarily the Blue Mountain factory, you will partner with facility leadership to develop, plan, and execute Quality projects, with a secondary focus on Safety, Health, and Environmental initiatives.
You will be the on-the-ground engine for new product and process development (NPD), improvement, and infrastructure projects. Your day-to-day involves providing direct support on the production floor, fielding requests from factory Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Division 3 Product Management teams, and preparing periodic performance tracking reports. While 75% of your time will be spent at the factory location, you will also travel up to 25% to other locations to provide onsite support for assigned tasks and projects.
This role requires daily onsite presence in an active industrial environment. You must be prepared to navigate work conditions that include uneven terrain, climbing ladders, navigating steps, and exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, or mud. Success in this role demands a proactive team spirit, the ability to work with minimal supervision, and a willingness to work extended hours as required.
Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong reasoning abilities, including the capacity to define problems, collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions from technical instructions. The ideal candidate possesses hands-on experience creating and revising standard operating procedures and process work instructions, along with excellent oral and written communication skills capable of leading co-workers at various levels.
Oil-Dri is an equal opportunity employer. All employment decisions and personnel actions, including hiring, promotion, discipline, compensation, benefits, transfers, and training, are consistent with the principle of equal employment opportunity.
