The Vanderbilt Lung Institute, an integrated patient care center, evaluates over 84,000 patients annually and is currently expanding within the Nashville Metropolitan Area. As a faculty member, you will play a crucial role in our mission to improve lives through cutting-edge research, education, and patient care, specializing in conditions such as cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, and pulmonary vascular disease.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join our growing and highly-regarded clinical programs as a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pulmonary and Critical Care specialist. You will provide both inpatient and outpatient care while advancing the field of pulmonary medicine. The role is designed to support a patient-focused environment where you can collaborate with an exceptional team of specialists and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).\n You will have the flexibility to choose between two tracks: the Clinician Educator (CE) track, which dedicates 20% of effort to academic endeavors like education, research, and administrative service, or the Clinical Practice (CP) track, which focuses entirely on clinical care. Regardless of the track, you will devote at least 80% of your effort to delivering high-quality clinical care. Inpatient duties typically involve 12-16 weeks per year covering the MICU, Pulmonary Consult Service, or the inpatient Pulmonary Service, with no in-house call responsibilities. Outpatient duties consist of 5-7 half days in clinic per week, adjustable based on academic responsibilities.
