This position serves as a vital clinical partner within our Medication Clinic locations, providing comprehensive psychiatric and medical assessment and treatment. The role is designed to bridge the gap between medical management and psychiatric care, ensuring that consumers with severe mental illnesses receive holistic support. You will review and approve treatment plans, offering expert consultation to staff while maintaining a working knowledge of both psychiatric and physical health medications.
In this capacity, you will conduct thorough medical and psychiatric assessments, evaluating everything from mental status and diagnosis to physical health, substance use, and social functioning. A key part of your day involves collaborating closely with registered nurses to monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, while also educating consumers and their families about mental illness and psychotropic medications. You will play a central role in crisis assessment and management during regular work hours, assist with discharge planning, and support the development of care plans.
Beyond direct patient care, you will contribute to the agency's broader mission by training staff on the treatment of severe and persistent mental illnesses, developing medical treatment policies, and providing consultative services to the Health Team. You may also be called upon to submit written reports or provide oral testimony in legal proceedings regarding treatment and support services.
We are dedicated to supporting our team members as much as we support our consumers. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes a generous portion of health insurance, low-cost dental and vision coverage, and a retirement plan with employer contributions. Our commitment extends to your financial well-being with student loan repayment options, annual pay increases, and bonuses. We also value work-life balance with 3 weeks of paid time off (increasing with tenure), 9 paid holidays, floating holidays, rest and relaxation days, and dedicated leave for education and volunteering.
We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, military status, or any other basis made unlawful by applicable federal, state, or local laws. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to join our team.
