This position is designed to support patients as they navigate their episode of care within Behavioral Health, ensuring a rapid, safe, and effective transition. The role focuses on providing developmentally appropriate care while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Registered Nurse, you will practice professional nursing and champion patient advocacy in strict accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
You will serve as a central point of coordination, utilizing a Family Centered approach to assess individualized patient needs. Your day-to-day involves delegating and directing care to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), and Allied Health personnel. By employing Evidence-Based Practices and Therapeutic Communication, you will monitor the physical, psychological, and social well-being of patients and their families. Additionally, you will actively engage in the workplace community by participating in data collection, auditing, and Quality Improvement initiatives, ensuring vital updates are communicated back to the team.
This role operates on a specific schedule to meet the needs of the unit: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with every other weekend required. We offer flexible Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) options, including 0.6 FTE (24 hours/week) or 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week). The starting rate is $36.90 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on relevant experience. The position includes a $4.70 differential for evening shifts and an additional $4.70 differential for weekend work.
Candidates must hold a current Ohio Registered Nurse license and a current CPR certification. A BSN or Associate degree is required, with a commitment to obtain a BSN within five years of hire. While specific certifications such as NRP, PALS, ACLS, or APHON may be required based on the business unit, the role offers opportunities for professional development. Nurses in this position may be expected to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as directed by leadership.
