This position serves as a Registered Nurse within Sharp HealthCare, providing direct and indirect nursing services to patients and their families. The role is designed to deliver safe, therapeutic, and efficient care that addresses both overt and subtle patient needs across the continuum of care. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that incorporate the mind, body, and spirit.
Your day involves managing complex patient needs, often requiring quick recognition of diagnoses even when symptoms are dissimilar. You will establish therapeutic relationships with patients and families, anticipating and overcoming barriers such as cultural, spiritual, or language differences. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to coordinating care through systematic planning and timely information exchange with the broader healthcare team.
You will also serve as a resource and preceptor for coworkers, students, and travelers, offering positive feedback and incidental teaching to help improve unit performance. Responsibilities include delegating tasks appropriately, ensuring patient safety, and acting as a patient advocate by identifying needs and removing obstacles to care. You will provide age-appropriate education to facilitate recovery, self-care, and health maintenance, while collaborating on discharge planning and the development of patient education materials.
This role operates on a 12/36 schedule with 12-hour shifts. The specific shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend coverage is required on an every-other-weekend basis. This position does not require on-call availability.
The hourly pay range for this position is $61.74 to $90.16. This scale reflects the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and the United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals. Placement within this range is determined by years of RN experience.
