Ladgov Corporation is seeking a spiritually sensitive Protestant Music Director to lead music ministry efforts at the Vandenberg Space Force Base Chapel. This role is designed to support a vibrant, diverse military faith community through musical leadership during rehearsals, weekly worship services, and special religious events.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong musical proficiency, leadership, and a deep passion for supporting Christian worship within a military chapel environment. You will serve as the primary musical collaborator to the Protestant Chaplain, ensuring that music selections align with the liturgical calendar and sermon themes.
Your week will involve directing music activities in close collaboration with chaplains, praise teams, musicians, and volunteers. You will lead at least one rehearsal and one worship service weekly, each lasting 1–2 hours. A typical service day requires you to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to worship to ensure all equipment is ready and the team is prepared.
Beyond the weekly rhythm, you will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers and praise team members. You will also coordinate music for special services, including funerals, ecumenical events, and holidays, adapting your musical style to include contemporary, gospel, and traditional Protestant genres.
Candidates must attend and pass a qualifying interview and audition to demonstrate their ability to sight-read, transpose, and improvise music effectively.
We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment within our military faith community.
