We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Proposal Manager to lead the complete proposal lifecycle for our federal IT contracts. This role serves as a critical bridge between Business Development, Capture teams, and internal subject matter experts, ensuring that every submission is not only compliant but strategically compelling.
In this position, you will drive the narrative from initial solicitation analysis through final submission. You will interpret complex RFP requirements to develop win themes and go/no-go recommendations, while managing the production of high-quality documents including RFI responses, white papers, and past performance citations. Your work ensures that our proposals align seamlessly with federal government requirements and corporate quality standards.
Your day involves orchestrating the proposal engine. You will lead kick-off meetings, facilitate color team reviews, and coordinate with Capture Managers and Program Managers to gather and organize reusable content. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to editing, formatting, and reviewing documents to adhere to strict editorial specifications and branding guidelines. You will also manage the logistical aspects of proposal production, including printing, binding, and shipping, while maintaining reference databases for graphics and past performance assets.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a structured interview process designed to assess both technical expertise and cultural fit. The process typically includes an initial screening to verify experience with federal procurement, followed by a deep-dive discussion on proposal strategy and compliance. Final rounds may involve a presentation on a sample RFP or a scenario-based exercise to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
This is a hybrid position based in McLean, VA (8201 Greensboro Dr, Suite 500E, 5th Floor). The team operates on a schedule requiring 2-3 days of in-office collaboration per week to foster effective teamwork and communication.
