The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is home to over 4,000 employees dedicated to connecting the Commonwealth's residents and communities. The Facility Maintenance co-op is an integral part of the RMV Service Centers, responsible for assisting with facilities management to ensure smooth operations across all locations. This role offers a unique opportunity to learn the various facets of facilities management while supporting the daily needs of our centers.
In this position, you will partner with the operations team on ongoing projects and assist with daily site inspections. You will help resolve facility-related issues, perform light-duty maintenance, repairs, and installations, and manage work orders to ensure timely completion. The role also involves coordinating with contractors, tracking necessary items, and supporting MassDOT business units with property services matters. Additionally, you may assist the maintenance supervisor with landscaping and light carpentry tasks such as patching and painting.
A key aspect of this role is mobility. You will travel throughout the region and state to different facilities as required. Successful candidates must possess a valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License (or equivalent) and have reliable transportation to travel daily to multiple locations.
