About the Role
This position serves as a Property Adjuster covering Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Livingston, Steuben, Allegany, and surrounding counties. The role is dedicated to inspecting and investigating first and third-party claims to determine the circumstances of the claim and evaluating coverage under the policy. You will negotiate settlements within proper authority levels and generate reports that clearly document the investigation, evaluation, and negotiation phases of the claim adjustment process.
Day in the Life
You will manage a caseload by establishing and maintaining appropriate file reserves and a timely diary system. Your work involves making contacts, scheduling inspections, and physically assessing property damage. This includes climbing ladders, navigating uneven ground, accessing cellars and attics, and entering structures to document damages and write repair estimates. You will also construct and track monthly mileage and expense reports while ensuring adherence to all pertinent Regulation 64 rules and claim handling laws.
Work Environment & Equipment
This is a hybrid, on-the-road position requiring a valid NYS Driver's License. A company vehicle and all necessary equipment, including a laptop, phone, and printer, are provided. The role requires the ability to read and interpret technical information such as engineer's reports, contractor's estimates, remediation reports, and policies.
